see, there's 3 different types of people:
(1; joe) seemingly perfect. attractive, charming. then you discover there is nothing underneath the facade, no real talent or meaning helpful to my existence.
(2; kevin) ugly. don't even consider because we're all so fucking superficial. actually probably the nicest, coolest of them all.
(3; nick) cute, but never give them a second look. down the road we discover they are talented, intelligent. lives under the radar.
if asked, most would probably consider themselves to be option #3, "nick". that is because we enjoy seeing ourselves as surprises, the other team's secret weapon (if you will). come out of nowhere and audiences are thrilled. it's even more exciting than just being awesome all along.
